This class will give students a working knowledge of databases, what they are and how to use them. Students will learn to view data in a database and change the view by sorting and filtering the data. Students will create a database and learn to define forms for inputs and reports for summarizing the data. Students will learn to create queries to view a subset of data in the database. Students will create charts to display data and a switchboard to manage their database application. Students will create relational databases and learn to create forms, queries and reports that use relational databases. Students will learn to build macros in Access and to use the macros to expand the capabilities of the switchboard. Students will be introduced to the basics of creating VBA applications in Access. Students will need a copy of Office. A 60-day trial version is available.
