During this course you will learn more about how Photoshop can be used to retouch and restore digital images. You will learn how to correct, change and improve the color of an image, get rid of stains and scratches on scanned images, combine images, add special effects and filters to images and to create images using Photoshop's artistic tools. It is recommended that you take the Photoshop Introduction or have worked with Photoshop before taking this class. Students will need a copy of Photoshop. A 30-day trial version is available.
Objectives
Students will work with Photoshop's Levels tool, adjustment layers, blending modes and and channel mixers to improve the tone and contrast of their images.
Students will use the Photoshop tools to correct images that are over and underexposed.
Students will work with the Photoshop color correction tools to remove a color cast from an image, balance the color of an image and correct the color of an image.
Students will use the Photoshop editing tools to remove dust and mold spots and image texture from scanned images.
Students will use the Photoshop tools to repair damage to images.
Students will use the Photoshop tools to create backgrounds for their images, combine parts of different images and correcting damaged images.
Students will use Photoshop's tools to change a color image to black and white, hand color black and white images and sharpen and soften images.
Students will use Photoshop's tools to improve skin texture, remove distractions, improve facial features and adding soft focus to portrait images.
Students will use the Photoshop tools to add lighting effects, change the appearance of the model and make changes to an image to improve the overall image.
Students will use what they have learned about Photoshop in this class to create a final project.
