Description

This course will review the skills necessary to pass the Reading portion of the GED. Topics that will be covered include: Interpreting Prose Fiction, Interpreting Poetry, Interpreting Drama and Interpreting Prose Nonfiction.

Objectives

• Students will take the GED Reading Pre-Tests to identify where they will need more work.
• Students will correctly answer questions related to interpreting prose fiction.
• Students will correctly answer questions related to interpreting poetry.
• Students will correctly answer questions related to interpreting drama.
• Students will correctly answer questions related to interpeting prose nonfiction.
• Students will identify ways they can practice and prepare for the GED Reading Exam.

Lesson 2: Interpreting Prose Fiction

Read and work the examples in Language Arts, Reading, chapter 1, pages 589 - 614.

Lesson 3: Interpreting Poetry

Read and work the examples in Language Arts, Reading, chapter 2, pages 615 - 636.

Lesson 4: Interpreting Drama

Read and work the examples in Language Arts, Reading, chapter 3, pages 637 - 654.

Lesson 5: Interpreting Prose Nonfiction

Read and work the examples in Language Arts, Reading, chapter 4, pages 655 - 696.
