Description

Create a website for your business, organization or for your family in this website development course.  This class will give you a working knowledge of Microsoft Expression Web.  During this class you will create web pages that contain text, graphics, tables and lists.  You will learn how to use hyperlinks and hotspots.  You will create styles and layouts with CSS.  You will create interactive behaviors and forms.  You will complete the class in a website that is ready to publish.

Lesson 1: Exploring Expression Web

Read the Introduction section and chapter 1 in your book.

Lesson 2: Working with Pages

Read and work through chapters 2 and 3 in your book.  As you work through creating sites, you may wish to name them as something like "Chapter 2 creating a one page site" or "Chapter 2 Creating a Template site," etc. in case you want to refer back to them.  There may be some tasks you complete that you choose not to save. 

Please read the required Practice and Assignment for each lesson before beginning.  There will be some topics in the book that you will complete that will need to be turned in for grading purposes.  Knowing what these are in advance may help.

Lesson 3: Working with Web Page Text

Read and work through chapter 4 in your book.

Lesson 4: Working with Web Page Graphics and Hyperlinks

Read and work through chapters 5 and 7 in your book.  Chapter 6 is reserved for an intermediate course.

Lesson 5: Adding Interactive Behaviors

Please read and work through chapter 8 in your book.

Lesson 6: Adding tables, frames and borders to sites

Read and work through chapters 9 and 10 in your book.

Lesson 7: Adding Forms

Read and work through chapter 11 in your book.

Lesson 8: Creating Styles and Layouts with CSS

Read and work through chapter 12 in your book.

Lesson 9: Publishing Your Site

Read and work through chapter 14 in your book.
