Linux: Installation and Overview

Description

This course is for students who want to get started using Linux. Students will install RedHat Linux Fedora Core on their computers. Once the installation is complete students will learn the basics of the command prompt and the graphical user environment. Students will be introduced to some basic system administration.

Objectives

You will prepare for and perform an installation of a Linux workstation.
You will explore the X environment and the available applications.
You will use the command prompt to perform basic Linux file maintenance commands.
You will perform basic system administration commands.
